Get Over It! by Iyanla Vanzant

Get Over It! by (one of my favorite people) Iyanla Vanzant changed my mentality and I have no doubt it can help change yours too.

This was the first book I read in my sobriety and it’s the only one I continue to circle back to.

-in all honesty, it’s the only book I continue to carry with me on a daily basis.

I’m not kidding, I keep it in my car, carry it to work, pack it for travel; this book has so much useful information in it!

Granted, I mostly carry it for the affirmations that are nestled in the back pages of the book, now thumbed through to the point of exhaustion. This book acts more like a lighthouse beacon, showing you a clear path to breaking the negative cycles in our lives.

-notice I said the path was clearly lit, I did not say it was smooth or easy, but if you do the work, it works for you, and Vanzant leads the way.

Iyanla helps you clear your mind, and refocus your thoughts with simple and practical meditation practices that I’ve since implemented into my daily life; such as

If you are someone who really struggles to break free of dominant negative thought patterns (DNTP) this book will prove beyond helpful!

Positivity really does begin with the thoughts you feed yourself, and if there is no positivity, these thoughts begin negatively, they perpetuate negativity, and in the end, result in negative results.

This book proved not only crucial to my recovery from alcohol, but my recovery from stage 4 cirrhosis, and continues to help me on a daily! If I could personally recommend this book to everyone in the world I would have a public service announcement right now!
