Let’s not make this weird.
I know you think you have everything figured out right now, but bear with me for a few short minutes.
I would try and tell you, stay away from alcohol, but I know that at 15 you think you will rise far above that anyway; you won’t until way, way later. It will feel like it’s too late. You will even question your entire life and your place inside of this world.
Sometimes you will feel completely lost and even though you haven’t been, you will feel abandoned. Here are a few things to keep in mind.
Step up to the plate every chance you get!
Even if you strike-out, you will gain some valuable knowledge.
Don’t pay attention to the people on the sideline, they aren’t in your shoes. People will ridicule and heckle you for your shortcomings and praise you for your accomplishments; take both in the same stride.
You see, a lot of things are going to happen along the way.
You will lose people you can’t imagine living without, and you will meet people you can’t ever leave behind. You will come across people who need your help, and people who are here to help you. -yes, you will encounter many people who couldn’t care less about you. Treat them all with the same kindness and respect that you would want; no matter what.
Don’t cling to a mistake just to see it to the end. Cut your losses and move forward.
For the love of all things good in this world, STOP caring about caring. It’s perfectly ok to care about others, even if they don’t feel the same; it’s called compassion. Don’t lose that.
Last but most certainly not least, you can do anything, and I mean anything you set your mind to. You are strong, and one day you will be the light to inspire people. Just be careful not to drown yourself; that your flame doesn’t extinguish.
