Off To A ‘Rockie’ Start

The Colorado Rockies have a tough week ahead of them with a nine game stretch at home, each series against their division. Things didn't look to promising for Colorado after they closed the first game of this stretch with a loss. Trailing 10-9 behind the Diamondbacks in a somewhat back and forth game.

Rockies are off to an aptly named start, as they hover just over the last position in the division. Their overall league ranking is 24th place, while opposing Arizona is 4th.

Ketel Marte of the Diamondbacks earned his third multi-home run game, as a switch hitter no less! Few players make a name for themselves as switch-hitters. One more this season and Ketel Marte will have tied the MLB record.

Night two finished out with a 9-2 win over the Colorado Rockies. Bringing Arizona's winning streak to 4, and bringing them one game behind the Dodgers in the NL West Division. The loss for Colorado leaves them trailing 6.5 games behind L.A. who is currently in the number one spot for the division.

There is no telling what tricks Colorado might pull out of their sleeves tonight, but with a roster like the Arizona Diamondbacks, I'd be scrambling to find an ace in the hole.

The 'Rockie' start for Colorado could be exactly what the Diamondbacks need to keep them in prime position.
